At the end of October, the Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association (NESDRA) brought a Traveling Pumpkin Patch to the Early Childhood Center! Throughout the school day, classrooms rotated in and out of the gym for their turn in the pumpkin patch.
Upon arrival at the gym, the students were greeted by the NDSRA staff who explained the events of the day. The students were buzzing with excitement as they moved around the gym; switching between stations and engaging in all the activities the NDSRA brought. Highly popular stations included giant sensory bins filled with corn and fall toys, graveyard bag toss, mummy bowling, and apple picking with toy trash grabbers. Each student also had the opportunity to select a small pumpkin to decorate however they liked with stickers. After the pumpkins were decorated they put them in their classroom wagon to take home.
The Traveling Pumpkin Patch was the talk of the day at the Early Childhood Center. Thank you again to the Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association for bringing this extraordinary experience to our students!
