At the early childhood center, all of our classrooms have sensory bins that the students are able to interact with every day during free play time. They are filled with various materials that provide endless opportunities for exploration and engagement. Many of our teachers add thematic manipulatives to their classroom sensory bins each month that align with their current classroom theme. We love to use sensory bins with our little learners because they encourage fine motor development, language development, cognitive development, and collaborative play. The sensory bins are always a popular center in our classrooms. Even better, this is an easy activity you can carry over at home! All you need is a bin, some of your child’s toys, and sand, water, or whatever other filler you can find!
